FAQs
Do you sell online?
We don’t offer online checkout. Each piece is reviewed and specified to your project, so we invite you to request information from any product page or contact us directly at info@malexanderlighting.com or 212‑838‑2320.
Where are you located?
Showroom: The D&D Building, Suite 313, 979 Third Avenue, New York, NY 10022.
What types of lighting do you offer?
We specialize in antiques (Renaissance through Mid‑Century) and fine reproductions under The L’Etoile Collection: chandeliers, sconces, floor and table lamps, lanterns, and decorative accessories.
Do you do custom or bespoke pieces?
Yes. We produce custom fixtures and adaptations inspired by historic models and can design to your dimensions, finish, and application.
Do you restore and rewire antiques?
Yes. Our team restores, rewires, and brings vintage fixtures up to modern standards while preserving their character. (Many of our pieces are carefully restored in‑house.)
How do I request information about a specific item?
From any product page, click Request Info / Contact Us about this item and submit the form. Your inquiry includes the product details so our team can respond quickly with availability, pricing, finishes, lead time, and installation notes. (On the legacy site, item pages include this flow.)
What information should I include with my inquiry?
Project name, quantity, finish preferences, ceiling height / mounting constraints, and your need‑by date. If you have a trade account, include firm name and resale certificate (if applicable).
Lead times
-
Antiques / one‑of‑a‑kind: Typically ready once any requested restoration is complete.
-
L’Etoile reproductions & custom: Lead time varies by model, finish, and quantity; we’ll confirm when quoting.
Finishes & shades
Many fixtures offer finish options and shade choices (e.g., silk, parchment, tole). We’ll review available options with your quote.
Bulbs, sockets & voltage
Fixtures are wired for your region (e.g., E12/E14/E26 bases, 120V/220–240V as specified). We’ll confirm lamping and max wattage on your quote or spec sheet.
Installation
We recommend a licensed electrician. For larger pieces, we can provide installation notes and ship with a hanging kit when applicable.
Shipping & delivery
We ship domestically and internationally using trusted carriers and pack to conservation standards. White‑glove options are available on request. We’ll quote freight once the order and destination are confirmed.
Approvals / holds
If you need an approval, please ask—short holds may be possible on antiques, subject to demand. Approvals/loans are at our discretion.
Returns & exchanges
Because many items are antique, sales are typically final. If there’s a concern on arrival, contact us within 48 hours so we can help. We’ll outline any exceptions on your quote.
Trade & design professionals
We work closely with the design trade. Please include your firm details with your inquiry. (The company is a longstanding trade resource.)
